This is the good life!

I'm writing to you from Key West, Florida. Today is our first full day of vacation, and it was filled with butterflies, flowers, t-shirt-selling tourist traps, ocean and happy hour. Oh yeah - I'm also showing you my pedi for this week.
Yes, It's a little different down here! Only 90 miles from Cuba.
Sally Hanson Insta-Dri, (don't remember name!) I put a glitter top coat on top,
to make it over-the-top. (Yes, I have finger-toes.)

This is real!
More to come!

Lemons/Lemonade

Last night's yucky manicure was Hard Candy Sky with a non-Seche Vite top coat.  Giant dent, bubbles galore and sheet marks.Wah. Tonight, I did some konad stamping to hide the flaws. It's no surprise, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, and Orly metallics look the best. Blues on the left hand and metallics on the right. I adore this konad design and use it the most.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue on my pinkie -
the best for opacity.
Right hand, different metallics, but they kindof all look the same!
The best was on my pinkie, Orly Luxe. This color combo is more dainty!
Makes me think of Tiffany jewelry store.
Major dent. Sally Girl no name glitter tc.

The Winners: Hard Candy Sky, SH Insta-Dri Brisk Blue, Orly Luxe

Yes, I should do better clean-up before taking my pics, but . . . it's my blog, I can do what I want!

Dots!

I watched a dotting tutorial last night and tried dotting tonight. Dotting is very simple, and I really didn't need a tutorial, but watching someone else inspires me. This was fun and easy. My idea was to stay with pinks and purples. Maybe I should have done a Cinco de Mayo theme, but . . .I wanted dots!

Stamping practice

Practice makes perfect, right? Maybe someday.

Pure Ice Calypso, stamped with WnW black creme.

I tried the design in the lower left corner, but it
just wouldn't transfer. So I switched to the design in the
upper right corner.

Stamping frustration

Hi everyone. Watching the royal wedding (over and over and over) inspired me to do a more ladylike manicure. I had some major technical difficulties with this Konad-icure. Possibly I need to breakdown and buy the Konad special polish to use with the plates. Also, I'm using a credit card as the scraper instead of the original one. Maybe I need to go back to the original?
WnW fastdry, Orly mini nude, Sinful Colors Black on Black
I really like the black fishnet over a nude color. Sexy!
I like the concept, but the execution - not so much.
Thanks for lookin'!!!

Awesome Walgreens Sale

I was so excited to hear about this Walgreens sale. All Sinful Colors are 99 cents. The sale ends April 30th, so get out there and get-um! I scooped-up seven and a little bit of Easter candy on clearance. Oooohhhh . . . peanut butter eggs! So apparently, I like greens, blues and purples. There were some awesome glitter top coats, especially "Nail Junkie". (See below). I call these "top coats" because they are way to sheer to where alone, but add SO Much to another base color. I think it's funny when I read the reviews on Makeup Alley about these glitters: people judge them on there own as a stand-alone color, but I never wear these alone. It's amazing what they can do for other, basic base colors. Yes, they are gloppy, but that is what keeps all the glitter in suspension! People! Ahem. I'm ok now. I just love my glitters! The outlier is the pale pink, I thought that looked close to my OPI Sweetheart, which I use a lot.
I suppose I should get up and get the names, but I'm too lazy! The first is Black on Black,
then a chartreuse green glitter, darker green jelly, Nail Junkie (love), a black jelly with blue microglitter,
a purple jelly with pink microglitter, and the pale pink.

$OPI metallic teal (no name on mini bottle) and Sinful Colors Nail Junkie

Sinful Colors Nail Junkie is a very sheer aqua with gold, aqua, cobalt blue
and a tiny bit of orange glitter. I LOVE IT!

Oh, how I wish my camera could capture the true essence of the glitters. Maybe I'll read that owner's manual one of these days!

Happy Easter!

The Easter holiday just begs us to paint pastel, Easter egg inspired nails. I am proud of myself: I had a plan, it took me an hour and a half of painstaking work, but it paid off. Sure, there are some flaws, but I'm still proud of my Easter egg mani.
The tools: scotch tape and craft scissors. The polish: Hard Candy Sky,
Sally  Girl no name lavender, OPI Sweet Heart.
