dots

I wanted to do a very feminine color with a black accent. This is two coats of OPI Sweet Heart with WnW Ebony Hates Chris dots. At first I thought I would do random dots but didn't like that and switched to a line of dots. I like!
flash on - too bright! But you can see where I started the random dots.

Looks better. This is such a sweet, very pale pink. Love it!

Oh, also during this adventure, I spilled acetone on the kitchen table. Whoops.

nail polish haul

I've accumulated these colors over the past week and a half. I would guess the total to be around $18. Not bad, but I think I will committ to NO NAIL POLISH spending for at least 30 days. That doesn't mean I can't buy KONAD, though . . .

China Glaze Zombie Zest, Forever 21 Gold, Hunter Green, Navy, Lavender, WnW Wild Card/Invitation, WnW Ebony hates Chris.
It looks like daylight is not the best to convey the true colors. The Hunter Green and Gold will be utilized for my Green Bay Packers hand for the super bowl. Can't wait!
Here's another theme for next week: Chinese New Year is Feb 3. I could do red nails with some Chinese letters painted freehand. Now that's a challenge!

My very first blog post!

Welcome to my blog. Since this is my very first post (sort-of, ignore the video of cats playing pattycake!), I will keep this simple and short. As some of you may know, I'm somewhat of a nail polish addict. NOT like Collette from mysimplelittlepleasures.blogspot.com, but I need to get more plastic boxes!

After watching Collette's tutorial on you tube, I attempted the sponging/gradient technique. The base is three coats of OPI The color to watch, with OPI for Sephora Just a little dangerous on the tips. I'm quite please with how they came out for my first attempt!

This manicure lasted a long time. Probably from the multiple layers, because I'm certainly not easy on my nails. But I try to remember Serena Williams advice, "Don't use your nails as tools." I'm actually sick of this now but haven't had time to do another manicure. Oh work, why must you interfere with my life?

Next post coming soon, with my recent purchases - or "haul" in the nail polish blog lingo. ;)
